Hello, I'm Alex.

A backend guy: scalable systems and cloud-native apps. Most days I am rolling around somewhere in the .NET ecosystem, with side trips into TypeScript when a small tool needs building. Lately I am mildly obsessed with wedging AI tooling into every gap in my workflow. The part of the job I actually enjoy is making complicated things simple.

How I work

Boring and dependable beats clever. Simplicity is always the deliverable.

I also believe self-evolving agents, the ones that improve their own tools and checks, will end up doing real work in real businesses, not as a demo. They are the things that let a small team deliver far more than its size suggests. I think that’s one of the things that pushed me to build Mirana as the very first version. The story is honestly just beginning.

Away from the keyboard

I am a husband and a father first, which is the part of my life that actually gets a schedule. The rest of my time goes outside. I walk a lot of bush tracks, paddle flat water when it’s hot, hit snowy slopes when its cold, and drive to fishing spots where catching something sometimes happens. I still play basketball, on the understanding that my knees now get a vote. There is usually a bike involved on a weekend and always a coffee involved beforehand.

Right now

What I am building and reading this month lives on the /now page. It changes more often than this one does,

Fun fact
Half my commits these days are co-authored by an AI agent. I still read every line.
